The Earth: Shapes and the Size-Internal Structure of the Earth
The term “Physical Geography” refers to the study process for identifying the shape and structure of the surface of earth. More information regarding the internal structure is described here.
Introduction
“Physical Geography” is the study process that improves the knowledge about the different layers of earth’s land and oceans masses and many others. The aim of this study is to describe the change in process of rocks, weathers, activities of oceans and many others. Here in this study, the aim is to describe the “Internal Structure of the earth” & “The composition and structure”. Geomorphology or the study of Earth’s surface involves various matters such as how the surface is created and many other pieces of information. The study of “Internal structure of earth” also called Geomorphology determines the topographical features of the earth’s surface.
“Physical Geography” is concerned with the origin of the landform, classification, description and many others. It includes the physical process on the earth that creates a constant change. These processes are; Movement in the tectonic plates, wind erosion, water erosion, and deposition makes a huge change in the surface of Earth. “Physical Geography” in other words describes physical systems which may cause changes on the Earth’s surface level.
Internal earth structure
The earth surface has three layers. These three layers are; Crust, Mantle and Core. The different layers are also called plate tectonics. The “Internal structure” can be divided into various layers which are based on the physical characteristics and chemical compositions.
Chemical Layer
Earth has three vital divisions which are based on its chemical makeup, chemical composition. Indeed, countless variations are there but only two significant changes occur. Thus leading to three different types of chemical layers can be evaluated. They are crust, Mantle and Core. Moreover, the mantle part has two divisions; they are Upper Mantle and Lower Mantle. However, the Core part also has two divisions: Inner and Outer Core.
Physical layers
“Internal Structure” can be broken into five distinct physical layers. This division is based on the features of how the layers respond to the level of stress. The different layers are the lithosphere, asthenosphere, mesosphere, inner core and outer. The lithosphere is the outer part of earth that is rocky in texture. The asthenosphere zone refers to the layer part below the surface level of earth from 100 km to 700 km. This layer lies beneath the layer of the lithosphere. This layer is much hotter than the lithosphere. Moreover, it has more fluid in texture than the upper layer.
The mesosphere or the Lower mantle layer lies between approximately 410 and 660 km in depth. Thus it is also a hotter layer than the previous. The inner minerals changed to various forms as per the direction of the increasing pressure condition. The outer core is the liquid layer found within the Earth. This layer starts from 2,890 km and extends to 5,150 km. The solid inner is less thick (1,220 km thick) than the outer core (2, 30 km thick). Inner core is forty layers in Earth. It is a solid metal ball mainly made of iron. In this layer, the temperature reaches an extraordinary level. The temperature remains between 7,200 to 8,500 degrees. However, the internal core is very hot and liquid, like the outer core.
The composition and structure the earth
The structure and composition in earth has three different layers;
Crust
This is the outermost chemical layer on earth. It is rocky in texture. It has two different types as well. They are; Continental crust which is similar to granite and Oceanic crust similar to basalt.
Mantle
This is a layer below the crust layer and above the core layer. This slayer carries small chunks of lower rock and many others. This layer is thick, about 2,900 km in depth. Mantle is mostly the soil bulk in the integral area.
Core
The Core part in the Earth has both liquid and solid components. This is made of iron, nickel and oxygen. Moreover, the solid metal inner is the key material for the earth. It helps the Earth from harmful space radiation by the magnetic field. The inner material and the inner function cannot be found because of the extreme heat.
Conclusion
This assignment briefly discussed the concept of “Physical Geography”, “Internal Structure” and “The composition and earth structure”. The main focus of this assignment is on the various layers of the surface level on Earth. However, here also a clear description of the different layers with their characteristic features. The different parts of the physical layer and the chemical layers help to clarify different inner components which are solid in form and which are liquid in form as well. Meanwhile, the concept of geomorphology, physical systems occurring on the surface level is also mentioned here.
