Aphelion refers to the distance between the point in the orbit of a planet, comet and other heavenly bodies which is most distant from the sun. Aphelion of earth can be noticed in early July.

Definition of Aphelion 

Aphelion is a Greek word where“Apo” refers to the away or apart and “Helios” refers to the sun.   Aphelion is a term of astronomy that refers to the most distant point of the orbit of the planet of the comet or other things from the sun. For the earth, aphelion has been seen in the early time of July. On the other hand, the perihelion refers to the shortest distance of the orbital point of the planet from the sun. Perihelion can be seen in the early January for the earth. The distance between the earth and the Sun during the July month is 152.1 million kilometres or 94.5 million miles approximately. Effects of Aphelion of Earth  

Aphelion and perihelion both have different effects on earth. The entire earth gets a few degrees warmer in early July during the aphelion time. Aphelion is much more noticeable for the earth than perihelion.  Aphelion does not change the season but it also increases the length of the season as it increases the summer days in the earth in July in the northern hemisphere. Perihelion is not much noticeable as perihelion occurs in the southern hemisphere of the earth in January which is surrounded by the ocean. In the northern hemisphere, the aphelion has been longer than the perihelion and it increased the length of the summer in the northern hemisphere which affects the global temperature.

Aphelion is a natural activity of the earth that is caused by the rotation of the earth. Aphelion is much more noticeable than perihelion and it increases the length of the summer. It mostly occurs on the 5th of July which is under the summer season.  The most distances can be noticed during the aphelion and the distance between the orbital point of the earth’s axis and the sun is 152.1 million kilometres.  Solar heating has been changed in July due to the aphelion.  Earth varies its distances from the sun during the aphelion and perihelion.
