The Earth: Rotation of the Earth

This study is discussing the rotation of the earth and different causes which resulted in this rotation and some effects of this rotation of the earth.

Introduction 

Earth spins on its axis and to complete this rotation takes 24 hours or one day. The rotation of the earth is completed with an inclination of “23.45” degrees .Solar time represents variation and this results in the non-circular orbit of the earth. With this rotation, Earth also revolves around the Sun and this takes 365 days to complete a rotation. This study discusses the causes of rotation and the effects of rotation. The planet rotates around its own axis and this causes many accidents and effects on the life of Earth. This study briefly defines the rotation of the earth and its effects and causes. 

Rotation of the Earth

Rotation is defined as “an object’s spinning motion about its own axis” and rotation of the earth is also completed by this process. In geographical terms the rotation of Earth is defined as “rotation refers to the circular motion of the Earth around an internal central axis or point.” The direction of the rotation of the earth is prograde and this happens counterclockwise. The rotation of the earth is completed in “West to the east” and this is viewed above from the North pole. According to NASA, this rotation is common in all planets of the solar system but not seen in two planets which are named Uranus and Venus. When a three-dimensional object spins around its centre then this is called rotation.

The earth is also following these rules and spins around its own axis and this process is called rotation of the earth. The axis of the Earth is vertical and so this runs “up and down”. The axis of Earth runs from the “North pole” to the “south pole”. As a result of this rotation, every part of the earth comes in front of the sun and gets warm. 24 hours is taken to complete the rotation of the Earth around the sun, so every part of the world comes in front of the sun for once in 24 hours. 

Causes of earth rotation 

The cause of the rotation of the Earth is the “intrinsic angular momentum“, and this is also seen in the solar nebula. This angular momentum is similar to the regular momentum which is causing the rotation of the earth around its own axis. The earth is from the collaboration of the nebula and as a result of this, the Earth is beginning rotation. The rotation of Earth comes from the initial tendency of the Earth which is produced from the formation of the Earth. 

Effects of rotation of the earth 

Rotation of Earth is very much important to the life of the earth and this is mainly handling the cycle of day and night on the Earth. Besides this, there are some effects also present which are happening due to this rotation of the earth. The combination of rotation and revelation is the result of the effects of weather, wind and temperature. Three are five main effects of the rotation of the Earth and those are described below; 

Movement of the water in the Ocean: the tides or waves of the Ocean are deflected as the results of the rotation of the earth. 

Movement of the winds: the rotation of the Earth also affects the wind and its circulation in the world. This rotation helps the wind to circulate all over the world and helps the living beings in their life. The winds which blow in high pressure are blown to the west from the north. 

Effects on Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere: as the result or effects of the rotation of the Earth the ocean currents and winds are deflected in different hemispheres. This is defects in right or clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere and deflects in left or counterclockwise in the Southern Hemisphere. 

Day and night: The most important effect of the rotation of the earth is “Day and night”. The earth rotates around its axis and for this, every part of the earth comes in front of the Sun once in 24 hours. 

Conclusion 

It is concluded, this study is developing a strong idea on the rotation of the earth and its effects on the life of the Earth. Earth has completed the rotation into 24 hours or a day and this is done by the spin of its own axis. There is the main cause which is the rotation of the Earth and this is the “intrinsic angular momentum“. This rotation of the earth also affects the life of the earth and is the main cause of the day and night on the Earth. Therefore it is concluded, this study is developing an idea on the effects and causes of rotation of the earth.
